Title: The Book of Accidents  Author: Chuck Wendig Expected Publication: July 20, 2021 Publisher: Random House Publishing Ballantine Del Ray Books Genre: Horror, Mystery, Paranormal  Pages: 544 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  Now and then you just need a good spooky, eerie tale to chill your bones. I love when spooky books incorporate eerie things from the past and bring them into the story, it adds that chilling factor! So many things happened soo long ago, along with soo many things that are happening in the present! Let's start with Maddie. Maddie has always been artistic, even as a child she was always an artist. When she was a child she witnessed something most children shouldn't and then she began creating haunting sculptures that were inspired by what she witnessed. Now Nate didn't have the best of relationship with his father, his father was more on the abusive side of parenting. With that being said when Nate's father passes away he is left the fam...

Title: Yoga Pant Nation  Author: Laurie Gelman  Expected Publication: July 13, 2021  Publisher: Macmillan Audio & Henry Holt & Company  Genre: Humor/Fiction/ Contemporary  Pages: 256 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  Ok I just have to say I did not read the first two books, but I am going to now. You know how sometimes you find the right book at the right time? This was definitely the book for me. I was laughing so hard I cried a few times in this book and everyone needs a good laugh like this! I mean it's completely relatable! Jen is taking on more than she can chew! Jen is dealing with her elderly parents, her daughter, being the class mom sending out the emails and achieving her dream job of being a spin instructor! The characters are fun! From Jen to Jen's Mom to her granddaughter, they are sooo much fun and I laughed too much! I do have to mention the imaginary people in the basement in Jen's mom's house. I loved the Tom Hanks quot...

Title: Daughter of Sparta  Author: Claire M. Andrew Published: June 8, 2021  Published by: Jimmy Patterson Books  Genre: Fantasy/ Mythology/ Young Adult  Pages: 400 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  So anytime I see "James Patterson Presents" I know it is something worth checking out and lets just say I was not disappointed! Daphne is a young woman, who is kind of an outcast. Because she was adopted she has never really been considered a true Spartan. This fact alone gets under Daphne's skin more than it should. Now, when Daphne is given an opportunity to take her brother's place in a race to catch a stag and return the garland that it was wearing she takes it. However, she does not know that that one decision will change her life forever when she meets Artemis, who agrees to help her on this quest! Now this adventure was amazing! I have always loved Mythology and this book really brings Mythology to life plus adding in the fact that there action and...

Title: Halloween Party Murder  Authors: Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis & Barbara Ross  Expected Publication: August 21, 2021  Publisher: Kensington Books Genre: Cozy-Mystery  Pages: 336 Pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  I am a huge sucker for Cozy-Mysteries. I’ve read a few books from Leslie Meier and since then I enjoyed her writing. I was excited to see this trio of novellas. The first novella was by Leslie Meier. Lucy and her friends are helping a neighbor plan a Halloween Party. At the party the wife of the neighbor is found murdered and the husband becomes the prime suspect. I loved the whole atmosphere lol. The second novella was by Lee Hollis. Haley throws a Halloween Party at her restaurant, now this novella definitely has some great humor. Now at this Halloween Party there is a murder and since everyone is still there no one can leave until they find out who the killer is and what happened. The third novella is  by Barbara Ross. Now I am ...

My Review on A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

Image
Title: A Good Girl's Guide to Murder  Author: Holly Jackson  Published: May 2, 2019 Published by: Electric Monkeu  Genre: Mystery/ Young Adult  Pages: 433 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  So for this book I'd give it a 4/5.  I didnt feel like this book had the wow factor, I enjoyed the book but it wasn't like OMG! I like that this was a reinvestigation type of book, like I enjoyed like where as the reader we did not know where she was going to go with her capstone project but I enjoyed that. I did not enjoy the death of her dog, I hated that part. I also enjoyed all the twist and turns and how all the different trails went in all different directions.  I did not like how unrealistic it was, like by the end of the story there was literally all the bad things that could happen to teenagers if they did not behave and follow the rules if that makes sense. My favorite character was Pippa! I loved her determination, her intellectual puzzle pieci...

My Review of The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin

Image
Title: The Nature of Witches  Author: Rachel Griffin  Published: June 1, 2021  Published by: Source Fire Books Genre: Fantasy/ Young Adult  Pages: 362 Pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  So, this one was definitely something different! I enjoy the whole fantasy and especially novels about witches so, this was right up my alley! Each witch has their powers based on a season of the year (winter, spring, fall or summer), but our MC is an Ever witch. Being a Ever witch gives Clara the power to pull powers from any season. This power scares Clara because she is constantly afraid that she won't be able to control her powers and is afraid because she doesn't want to hurt anyone that she loves. What was good about this book: The whole atmosphere of the book, I loved that it covered climate issues. The love story. Paige the loyal friend who had her back. I loved the school vibes, I have been looking for something extra like this since I have been missing Harry ...

My Review of Bury the Lead by Mischa Thrace

Image
Title: Bury the Lead  Author: Mischa Thrace  Published: June 10,2021 Published by: BHC Press  Genre: Young Adult/ Mystery  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pages: 228 pages  Review:  I enjoyed this tremendously! So growing up my grandfather would share a Sherlock Holmes radio show as well as read me snippets about it so I am now a Sherlock Holmes fan so this was right up my alley! Now that the main character is obsessed with Sherlock Holmes that was like icing on the cake for me lol. The story follows Kennedy who is an ace detective and she is using the Sherlocks techniques to try and solve a trend of teens that were dead and missing dating back to her high school. Other than some of the characters could have been more brought out like explained more of a background and such I think the author did a spectacular job with this story! It was well written and while I dont think Kennedy is on par with Sherlock she knew how to get the information that she needed. Althoug...
