I had a hard time putting it down!!  Kendall has a dark history involving a serial killer but she is also an FBI Special Agent. While she deals with her demons and ghost of her past, she is determined never to let anyone down again!  So while she is searching for a young girl, they are worried that she was kidnapped they end up finding her in her neighbor's garage.  So while she is working on her own case, she ends up letting the father of the victim have it in the hospital and is sent home. When she is sent home she is talking to her roommate/best friend Gwen. Then Gwen borrows Kendall's car and goes to work. In a couple of days, Gwen doesn't come home and Kendall starts to worry. So of course, because she found the body she is suspect #1. So while she doesn't want the police digging into her past, she hires an old roommate Allison as her lawyer. Now, Allison does what Jane does not want to be done and she digs into Jane's past and now is left second-guessing herself and wondering how well does she really know Jane. Now, while I was on the edge of my seat for a good portion of this book. I enjoyed the writing and I really admire how the author is able to tackle challenging subjects very ingeniously.  I enjoyed that as the reader we were knowing who was narrating the different chapters, sometimes authors will switch POVs, and it's confusing but this one was a great setup! Let me tell you that this one did not disappoint at all!  I kinda got the 90's teen movie vibe from this book!  Let's start with Mac! She is a huge people pleaser, she has basically been groomed from childhood to become her parents. Mac is supposed to become her mother to sit on charity boards and focus on her future children with her long-time boyfriend and become a homemaker. Well, Mac is an entrepreneur creating websites and working on restoring a hotel.
