My Review of Aurora's End by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Image
Title: Aurora's End  Authors: Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff Expected Publication: November 9, 2021 Publisher: Random House Children's  Pages: 384 pages  Genre: Science fiction/ Young Adult  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  I was really excited about this book because the second one left you on a huge cliffhanger! That being said the cliffhanger was redeemed in this novel! Now you do have a recap at the beginning of the book so that was awesome, I feel like that was what helped me connect everything even though I have read the other two novels. However, this book should come with an UGLY CRYING warning. Late 2 am crying. This is a book of action and there really are no dull moments, the authors did a very great job of keeping your attention as well as keeping you glued to the story! There are some deaths and secrets reveals that I honestly wasn't prepared for but it happened and I am kind of hoping that this is not the end, I mean I can see how it could be but...

Title: Reckless Girls  Author: Rachel Hawkins Expected Publication: January 4, 2022 Publisher: St. Martins Press  Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Contemporary  Pages: 320 Pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5 Review:  So another quick thriller read! I've been having a really neat and fun habit of jumping into a new book while I am recovering and this book did the trick! I was interested and kept on the edge of my seat for the most part! Let's start at the beginning Lux is kind of just floating through life, she's had a tough road, and she is ready to travel and go on an adventure! So along with two girls Gamma and Brittney to a remote island with Nico (Lux's boyfriend). While everything seems to be playing out how it's supposed to when they finally get to Monroe Island weird things start happening and then It becomes pretty clear that not everything is as clear-cut as originally thought. The group of four meet a couple who is on the adventure too but as the party keeps goi...

My Review of The Younger Wife by Sally Hepworth

Image
Title: The Younger Wife  Author: Sally Hepworth  Expected Publication: April 5, 2022 Publisher: St Martin's Press  Genre: Fiction/Contemporary/ Mystery  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Pages: 352 pages Review:  So, this is definitely a different type of book. I kept hearing about it and I knew I had to read it. This definitely isn't a domestic thriller like I had thought and that's okay, it was kind of more like a contemporary type of book with a lot of family drama. Let's start off with Stephen and Heather, Stephen is in his 60's and he's a stand-up guy and a doctor. He is going through a hard time because his wife Pam has dementia and he hires Heather an interior designer to help redesign their home. Well push came to shove and Pam ends up in a facility and Stephen and Heather(who is in her 30's) start dating and they decide to get married. Now, to add to this mix let's add Stephen and Pam's two adult daughters Rachel and Tully. Tully is having financial i...

My Review of These Deadly Games by Diana Urban

Image
Title: These Deadly Games  Author: Diana Urban  Expected Publication: February 1, 2022 Publisher: Wednesday Books/ St. Martin's Press Genre: Young Adult, Mystery, Suspense, Thriller  Pages: 416 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  Wow! This is a stay up all night to finish because I had to know what happened and tbh I was not disappointed in the way this one went nor by the way that the book had me hooked from the get-go! Crystal and her friends were practicing and working on their team dynamics to play in an all-state contest when things start to go sideways and everything starts changing forever! Crystal's mom is working a double shift, so Crystal had to drop her sister off at school to go on this field trip but once Crystal gets to school she starts to get these creepy text messages and things. The worst part of it was that her sister was gagged and they were holding her hostage until she played the kidnapper's little game. The first tasks weren't so bad ...

My Review of At The End of Everything by Marieke Nijkamp

Image
Title: At The End of Everything  Author: Marieke Nijkamp Expected Publication: January 25, 2022 Publisher: SourceFireBooks  Genre: Young Adult Contemporary,  thriller, suspense Pages: 400 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  Wow! What a book! So this is definitely something that I felt relevant to right now especially with barely starting to get over covid myself. I was literally kept on the edge of my seat for most of it and I do think that this was a trip! The Hope Juvenile Treatment Center is kind of named in mockery form of a sense, there is no hope and when an epidemic outbroke the guards, social services, the national guard everyone just left the kids there. While some of the kids broke off and decided to take their luck somewhere else and take off a bunch of the kids stayed and tried to make the best of it to basically survive. While there were *TW DEATH* and the kids worked with themselves to take care of their own and to try the best they could on t...

My Review of The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

Image
Title: The Golden Couple  Author: Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen  Expected Publication: March 8, 2022 Publisher: St. Martin's Press  Genre: Mystery/ Thriller  Pages: 336 pages  Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review:  OMG This is one that I was really enthusiastic to read because I have loved EVERYTHING that these two authors have written and just a little secret (they didn't let me down! I was glued to my kindle the last 40% of the book!) Marissa Bishop sought out Avery Chambers to help her with her marriage. Marissa had a fling and she wanted to tell her husband in a controlled environment, where she and he could work out their differences and heal their marriage. Avery is just the unorthodox therapist to do this, see she only takes clients that she can help in 10 visits because she has a system that works. So while they work through her program they can be in a different place than when they first came to see her. So, while it seems that the Bishops are ...

My Review of These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant

Image
Title: These Silent Woods  Author: Kim Cunningham Grant  Expected Publication: October 26, 2021 Publisher: Minotaur Books Genre: Mystery/ Thriller  Pages: 288 pages  Rating: 5⭐ Review:  A father with a secret and his daughter living in the remote Appalachian Mountains, no electricity, no family, and basically no connection to the outside world. When Cooper's friend, Jake does not show up to give them supplies as he has previously in the years that they had been up there. With this action, a chain of events happens to change their safe haven and a stranger appears on their land. This is a powerful novel and definitely shows the importance of a father and daughter relationship. I loved that the descriptions were completely on point! The area was described soo well I could visualize it! The fiery love that the father has for his daughter is amazing, and while since the beginning we knew that the day of wrecking is going to come for Cooper and that is wh...
