Wow. This book was intense—in the best, most haunting way possible.
Twenty-two years ago, Claire’s sister vanished without a trace. A man was arrested for her murder, but her body was never found. Since then, Claire’s relationship with her parents has been fractured, shadowed by grief and unanswered questions.
Now, Claire’s life is unraveling in a different way. She’s left her journalism job to pursue freelance work, but opportunities are scarce and her confidence is slipping. When her mother suffers a fall, Claire is asked to return home and help. Reluctantly, she agrees—and what begins as a tense reunion quickly spirals into something far darker.
While sorting through her sister’s old belongings, Claire discovers a job opening at Galloway Farms—the same orchard where her sister worked before her disappearance. Hoping the fresh air and routine will help her reset, Claire takes the job. But the orchard’s owners are... off. And when she stumbles upon a diary belonging to the owner’s wife, the unease deepens.
As the days stretch on, Claire becomes consumed by the mystery. The diary, the strange behavior, the isolation—it all begins to twist around her like vines. Secrets surface. Family truths unravel. And when everything finally comes to a head, it’s explosive.
I listened to the audiobook and it was phenomenal. The narrator nailed every beat—tense, emotional, and gripping. I was hooked from start to finish.
Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen and review this chilling, unforgettable ride. *Forget Me Not* is a slow-burn thriller with emotional teeth—and I loved every minute of it.
