Review:
Every town has their urban legend, the one horror story that fills childhood nightmares. County Road 951 is that urban legend; fatal wrecks and the demise of many ill-fated adventurers plague that stretch of road. The locals call the stretch of road The Devil's Highway.
Livia was living what the thought was the American Dream, she was a stay at home wife but all of that came crashing down when she found a used condom wrapper in her husband's pocket while she was doing laundry. When he came home she tried to confront him but she left in her car and had an accident and since then He has moved out giving her time to "think". Livia and three of her best friends decide to go on a weekend getaway however, they unknowingly take The Devils Highway as a shortcut. A Shortcut that will give them the drive from Hell.
The story jumps around between current time and about twenty years ago, but Livia did not have the greatest home life and her father was a terribly abusive, manipulative man. She endured a lot of abusive traumatizing events, when she left with her husband to escape her father she ran into the arms of another narcissistic man.
I received the audio book to listen and review this one and it was insane and I was on the edge of my seat with my night line on! I loved it! The narrator instilled the suspenseful horror and the way the narrator told the story had the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! If you like a good spooky paranormal story then this should be your next read!!!
Thank you Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for the extraordinary opportunity to listen and review this one!
