Review:

I loved it! While I feel like this book connected several things, I have questions.

I am absolutely in love with this series, but Xaden broke my heart in Iron Flame, and looking forward to this one, I thought there would be a cure, but there was nothing. There was no hope.

I loved how Violet grew into her leadership in this book like she took charge and Xaden had to take a step back.

There was some confusion with all the different places and then what Xaden's mother's husband did to them is absolutely unforgivable! They still prevailed!

This is full of action, secrets, more dragons, and how they find out what happened and what Violet's father wanted her to know.

The books that her father left her and how she had to figure out the whole deal to open the books because they were for her. I liked that, and it felt like we had a connection to her father that we never got to see and we also got to see that it was not just her mother that had secrets. Her father had secrets as well. I liked how this book created those connections, but the ending devastated me. I have to know what happened before she woke up. What happened in those 12 hours!!!!

Now, I sit on the cliffhanger and with the next installment scheduled towards the end of 2026, I am not sure that I am going to be okay with holding onto that cliff for that long! This one did not have all the action of The Fourth WIng but I loved all the perspectives and connections made in this one!
