Review:
Next of Kin is a roommates-to-lovers type of story but it's also very wholesome! I enjoyed it and loved the story!
Chloe was adopted after being in foster care because her mother was a junkie. She thought all of that had been put behind her because she graduated and was working freelance with a hopeful future ahead! However, her life was turned upside down by one phone call. Her birthmother had another baby, and she wanted her to take her instead of the baby going to foster care. Chloe was hesitant but she knew she wanted to have her live with her after seeing the baby in the NICU. So she starts the CPS process but soon finds out that she does not meet the CPS income limits and the social worker tells her about a program that will partner her up with another sibling trying to get custody of Willow (her sister) and the partner's brother.
Warren is a mechanic, and while he makes the income required by CPS, he does not have the housing, so his caseworker teams him up with Chloe so they can both be able to gain custody of his brother. At first Chloe and Warren try to avoid each other and they even have a few moments where they think it's not going to work out but they are both stubborn they make it work so they can keep custody of their siblings. But slowly things take a turn and they start developing feelings for each other! I loved this and I loved that it did have cringy moments but the story was really wholesome! I loved it! If you are looking for a good roommate to lovers then this one should be your next read!
