Review:

Wow! So this story follows Gia, she lives in New Orleans around the time Influenza happens and WWI. She is 17 years old and her history haunts her as well as her best friend Enzo. See Enzo and Gia have a traumatic event that both experienced separately but they bonded over. When they were younger Gia was 10 an ax killer broke into their homes and attacked their parents. While everyone survived it was a hard time because the killer was never found. Now, the attacks have started happening again and this brings Gia to start having flashes of the killings in her dreams. She had always had nightmares about that night but this time it is different, it's the killings that are happening now. So Gia and Enzo partner up to stop this killer before he kills more people and children!
Oh man, this one is really good and it's one that you won't be able to put down because it's so good and addicting. You have to know what happens next! I loved the historical aspects, so much was brought to life that I never knew about. I love the relationship Gia and Enzo have. Enzo is soo far into love with Gia he would move mountains for her if she asked him but, Gia is still on the fence because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship by throwing romance into the relationship. If you want a good historical fiction horror story then you will love this one! I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves paranormal horror too! This would be a great fall read! Thank you Netgalley and Tantor Audio for the chilling listening experience!
