Review:
This is the second novel that I have read by this author and she has a way of making slow creepy thrillers that are soo close to horror it's not even funny!
When Eleanor walked in on her grandmother's murder she came face to face with her killer but, she has prosopagnosia, so she couldn't recognize the killer. (Prosopagnosia is a disorder where a person can not recognize faces) Knowing she came face to face with the killer or whether the killer would return haunts her dreams and makes her kind of paranoid. So when the lawyer calls telling Eleanor that her grandmother had left her a house a house tucked away in the woods.
When they first arrive at the house while all the furniture is antique the house is in pristine condition, clean, and everything. Slowly while they are going through the house Eleanor is convinced she sees someone outside but when she goes outside she and Sebastian do not see anyone so she chalks it up to nerves.  That's only the beginning of things.
As Eleanor gets closer to the truth and figuring out what happened there, she realizes there is so much more than she imagined and they are trapped there because of a snowstorm.
This novel is a great spooky read for October and if you love spine-tingling thrillers that border doesn't the side of horror then this should be your next read! Thank you Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this one!
