This was one wild ride of a book!
Patricia has always wanted a more adventurous life, but most of her time is dedicated to being an at home mother. So she joins a book club where they read a lot of romance novels lol and they also read a lot of true crime novels too. Patricia was walking home from her book club when she noticed that her son had not taken out the trash, so she goes to take out the trash and she ends up being attacked by one of her elderly neighbors. With this attack  the elderly neighbor that attacked her ended up passing away so Patricia being the southernly neighbor felt terrible about the whole incident and decided to take a casserole to her nephew. With that whole situation there was something wrong with it, but Patricia just couldn't put her finger on it. The new neighbor always seemed to be around, and originally she liked him and she even invited him to her book club but something more sinister was going on there. With the help of her book club friends they work hard to find out what is really going on and then once they do it is more sinister than what they originally thought. I enjoyed that this novel wasn't a I love vampires type of book. I think this book was very unique and interesting.  One thing that bothered me about the novel was that the attacks had to happen within the group, like one was raped and attacked before they had the courage to go do something about it.
My favorite character was Mary, while it did seem like she was out of it most of the time she knew exactly what she was saying and she came back and said what needed to be said to protect her grandchildren.
